If it were mandatory that you have one bumper sticker on your car, what would it be of?
What would it say?

There are a lot of bumper stickers we have seen, that we find humorous, that we laugh at, or that make a statement with which we at least half-heartedly agree. But at the same time, we would not put many of these stickers on our cars (even those of us who like bumper stickers). Why?

Because we would not want to send that particular message to those who see us in our cars. We could not want to shine that kind of light on ourselves.

Not that that’s a bad thing. We do need to be concerned with the things people think of us. We do need to be concerned with the things, people, or organizations with which other associate us.

With that in mind, what kind of light are we shining? What message are we sending at school, at church, in our communities, with our friends? Are these messages consistent with being a young man or woman of faith? Is this the kind of light Jesus wants you shining on Him?

This material was originally used in one of my lessons for my youth group in Nixa.
